Evidence-based lifestyle medicine is an approach to healthcare that emphasizes lifestyle changes in combination with or without pharmaceuticals and surgeries to prevent treat and even reverse lifestyle-related chronic diseases and conditions.
According to a "New Unified Theory of Health and Healing" proposed by Dr Dean Ornish, father of modern lifestyle medicine, all lifestyle diseases share many of the same causes, and they progress in similar ways.
